The street style at Milan Fashion Week is usually a nice palate cleanser after the bold self-expression displayed in New York and London. Apart from the snakeskin wearing unicorn above, the Italians remind us that an understated outfit can still make a statement. Outside the shows for brands like Prada and Max Mara, editors, influencers, and celebrities showed off their refined looks.
It’s time to rethink all of your suiting pieces — blazers, topcoats, and even neckties. One woman went the matching route with a boxy powder blue double-breasted blazer and wide-leg shorts. Another cinched her pink blazer at the waist with a thick belt. And rapper Saweetie kept it executive in head-to-toe Prada complete with the brand’s new necktie. But if suiting isn’t your thing, there’s still plenty of color and prints for your eyes to feast on.
