The city of Richardson will have a free outdoor celebration Saturday to mark the recent completion of the $21 million Main Street Infrastructure Project.
The event will welcome community members back to Richardson’s downtown Main Street area, which has been renovated with wider walkways, new landscaping, decorative lighting, public art and community gathering spaces, according to a city press release. The infrastructure project began in 2019 and was originally scheduled to finish in 2020, according to the city website.
Fort Worth singer Abraham Alexander will headline the show, which will also feature live music, street performers, food vendors and shopping. The celebration will be along Main Street between Interurban and McKinney streets.
Attendees can park in a lot by Texas and Kaufman streets or at the RISD Administration Building, 400 S. Greenville Ave. An event shuttle will be transporting attendees from the parking lot to the event location from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m.
