ATLANTA — Atlanta Police aren’t pulling any punches as they crack down on illegal street racing in the city.
The Department released new video showing a group of Georgia State Patrol troopers swarm a group of unsuspecting racers doing donuts in a parking lot as a Atlanta Police Aviation chopper hovers above to direct the troopers

The incident appears to have happened last night at a shopping center in East Pointe.
After the drivers do donuts for several minutes, several troopers rush in from all directions and corner one of the racers, who tries to get away, but is no match for GSP.

The Atlanta Police Department couldn’t help but throw the racers a little shade on social media as well, calling them “entry level.”

“BTW, NASCAR vehicles and REAL sports cars don’t come with four doors or child safety locks,” APD wrote on Twitter. “Please take your family car home or we will impound it and arrest you. Your choice.”
Atlanta Police and the Georgia State Patrol have been aggressively working to squash street racing, which has surged across metro Atlanta amid the pandemic.
“We will employ our resources to cite and/or arrest those involved in this illegal, dangerous, and disruptive activity,” APD said in a statement in June.
