Rocky River street repairs winding down; tree and sidewalk program beginning - cleveland.com

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- It has been a busy construction season for Rocky River residents. A myriad of projects, are beginning to come to a close, while others are just getting started.

City Director of Public Safety Service Rich Snyder had this message for residents: “Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we complete these important projects.”

Here are the construction updates for the week:

• 2020 Street Repair Program -- The Shelly Company is the contractor on the project and work was tentatively scheduled to begin Monday (Aug. 17). Streets to be repaired are Archwood Drive, Eastlook Road, Eldora Road, Kingsbury Drive, Marlys Drive, Middle Post Lane, Scenic Road, Shoreland Avenue, Westhaven Lane, Wynwood Drive, Harwich Court, Idlewild Drive and Old Detroit Entrance.

• 2020 West River Estates tree and sidewalk program -- RMH Concrete & Foundations is the contractor. Their work will begin Aug. 24. Two streets affected by this project are Sunnyhill Drive and Thomson Circle. All work should be completed by the end of October, depending on the weather.

• Center Ridge Road Signals Project -- Miller Cable is the contractor. Their work was tentatively set to begin Monday (Aug. 17). The project will consist of upgrading signals, crosswalks and curb ramps on Center Ridge Road near Linden/Lakeview and Glenbar. The project continues through October, then will resume again in 2021.

• Rocky River Police Station -- The sidewalks in front of City Hall are being formed and will be poured soon. Steel framework is being erected for the structure and is expected to last two to three more weeks.

• 2020 Sidewalk Improvement Program -- As many repairs as possible will be done this year. Over the next two weeks, sidewalks will be assessed for disrepair and tripping hazards for replacement this fall. For any areas that need to be addressed, contact Shelley Sollars at 440-331-0600.
