HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA) — A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed during a street takeover in the heart of Hollywood on Saturday night.
Police said the teen, who family has identified as Alejandra “Ale” Estrada, was an innocent bystander.
Estrada was standing at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue when gunfire rang out.

Around 200 people had been gathered in the area, where an illegal street racing sideshow was taking place.
A short time later, an altercation broke out between two men at the event that ended in gunfire.
One of the bullets struck Estrada and she was declared dead at the scene.
“She was one of a kind and the life of the party,” loved ones said in an online fundraiser. “She was at the wrong place at the wrong time and unfortunately it cost her her life. She will forever live in our hearts.”
Another person, described as a 30-year-old man, was also shot. He took himself to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
Shooting suspect 33-year-old Ramon Roque Monreal was taken into custody in connection to Estrada’s death and is being held on $3 million bail, online records show.
Police said they are still searching for information from witnesses as the investigation continues.
A GoFundMe for Estrada’s family has raised more than $11,800 since Saturday’s shooting.
