IndyGo is closing stops along Mass Ave. and in Broad Ripple as the city prepares for road closures to make room for additional outside restaurant seating.
Four routes will be affected by the plan designed to help restaurants provide dine-in service to more customers. Indianapolis restaurants may begin providing dine-in service on Friday — but only outside.
Here are the changes IndyGo announced Thursday:
- Route 11, East 16th Street: All stops along Mass Ave. between Alabama Street and College Avenue are closed.
- Route 18, Broad Ripple: Stops between Westfield Boulevard/Kessler Avenue and Broad Ripple Avenue/Compton Street are closed.
- Route 21, East 21st Street: All stops along Mass Ave. between Alabama Street and College Avenue are closed.
- Route 38, West 38th Street: All stops in both directions are closed along Mass Ave. plus College and Arch.
Detours on routes 11, 21, and 38 are effective as of Thursday. Route 18 will be detoured beginning Friday. IndyGo will put up signs on affected stops to direct riders to the next closest stop on the route.
IndyGo expects the changes to remain in place through the Fourth of July weekend. Riders may contact IndyGo’s Call Center at 317-635-3344 or visit indygo.net/routes for more information.
