
From April 13 to May 1, a section of the Burlington Street bridge will be closed to traffic while contractors work on an improvement project.
There will be a detour for anyone needing to use the temporarily impacted portion of Burlington Street from Riverside Drive to Madison Street, according to a city news release.
Signs will direct traffic to Riverside Drive, Highway 6, and Gilbert Street, for the duration of the closure.

The Burlington and Madison Intersection Improvements Project is expected to be completed by August 28, according to the city's tentative schedule. Anderson-Bogert Engineers and Surveyors, Inc. was hired to complete the preliminary and final design.
A list of improvements includes continuous buffered bike lanes from Madison Street to Riverside Drive and asphalt resurfacing on Burlington Street from Capitol Street to Front Street. The project will also include traffic signal and pedestrian signal improvements and ADA sidewalk improvements.
