A pedestrian crossing an Upper West Side street was hit by a car early Saturday, authorities said.
The victim was crossing against the light at the intersection of West 70th Street and Broadway when a driver mowed him down in the crosswalk at about 9 a.m., police said.
Medics rushed the man to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital with head and leg injuries, officials said.
“I didn’t see the cab hit the guy, but I saw him on the floor bleeding everywhere. It didn’t look good,” one witness told The Post. “They took him away on a stretcher. I hope he’s okay.”
“He got hit so hard that his sneakers popped off,” he added. “They were lying on the street.”
The pedestrian’s name and age were not immediately released.
