COLUMBIANA — Grace Church located at 140 South Main Street is opening the Columbiana Street Fair with a musical celebration Thursday.
Profound Revival will be featured during a free concert to be held in the church parking lot at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9.
“We care about the community and we wanted to give the community something that we believe would be worthwhile,” Grace Church Reverend Dr. Robert C. Joy said.
Joy collaborated with Christian pop rock duo Josh and Andrea Richmond of Pittsburgh, PA.
The Richmonds started playing music together after taking a leadership role guiding youth through their local church.
Josh said he was able to push through the mental gymnastics of learning to read music and play guitar. Afterwards Andrea could give Josh new songs and after a few moments he was able to play them.
“It just kind of spiraled from there,” Andrea said about Josh’s involvement with the guitar.
The Richmonds have played a variety of shows including worship events, retreats and camps.
“We’ve had people come up and say “Man I just love listening to you guys. It’s a lot of fun and I enjoy what you do,’ It’s not even someone with a church background,” Josh remarked.
The Richmonds are not worried about allowing others determine their message.
“If we can take that time and just really connect with people on any level really that’s a positive thing for us,” Andrea explained.
Joy related to Profound Joy saying the music promotes a sincere and heartfelt message.
“It seems very authentic; they believe what they are singing about. That’s for sure,” Joy said.
Profound Revival and Joy invite the community to enjoy an evening of positive vibes and reflection.
