The Farmer’s Market on Main Street is back just in time for summer.
Only about half of the vendors were at the market for opening week. Green Thumb Initiative’s Jenni Guentcheva urges Cañon City residents to return to see what is new each week.
By mid-June, the local farmers will be ready to share their first harvest at the market. explains,
“Cañon City has the biggest food market in Colorado,” Guentcheva said. “We offer more produce stands and food vendors.”
Some markets may have more individuals selling crafts or novelty items, the Main Street market has a focus on food.
“Our hope is to change the food culture in Cañon City while bringing in traffic to downtown businesses,” Guentcheva said.
The market is from 4 to 7 p.m. every Thursday.
