Keep Eureka Beautiful volunteers loaded up 20 trees to be planted in sidewalks throughout Eureka on April 17. KEB volunteers have planted roughly 1,200 street trees in Eureka. “Street trees increase property values, slow traffic and clean our air and water,” said Tree Committee Chair Michele McKeegan. Street trees are free and Keep Eureka Beautiful volunteers will help with the planting. The only charge is $75 per sidewalk hole to partially offset the city’s charge for cutting the holes.
