Fourth Street closed between Vine and Race streets for safety net installation - WCPO

CINCINNATI — A section of Fourth Street has closed so crews can install more safety netting to catch debris falling from the former PNC Bank building's façade.

The sidewalk and road is expected to remain closed between Vine and Race streets possibly until early February.

City Club Apartments now owns the building at 309 Vine St. and has contracted with Structural Systems Repair Group (SSRG) to make repairs to the façade, according to a release from the city's Department of Transportation & Engineering.

Nets and covered scaffolding went up along the sidewalk after bricks fell from the building on Dec. 4.

City Club bought the iconic Downtown building in 2019 and plans to renovate its interior and exterior this year, including a "long-term solution" to repair the building’s façade.
