TRUSSVILLE — Work has officially started on the downtown plaza area between Main Street and Linden Street.
The work is part of the overall downtown redevelopment plan, which includes the development of the corner lot into a focal point of the downtown area. There will be a large clock, donated by the Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club. Linden Street will also be revamped and parking will be added to the area.
Sidewalk replacement is the first phase of the project. New lighting will also be installed.
Contractors expect the sidewalk work to take about three weeks to complete. During that time, one lane of Main Street will be closed each day from 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Overall, the installation of infrastructure throughout the plaza will take 90 to 120 days.
