Winter snow removal and street signage are among agenda items to be considered at an upcoming Rome Common Council meeting.
A measure on the agenda for the 7 p.m. Wednesday Common Council meeting would allow the city to agree to snow and ice removal terms with Oneida County for county highways running through the city for the 2020-2021 winter, according to a resolution.
Per the terms, the city would be reimbursed by the county for snow and ice removal on about 15 miles of road in the amount of $6,200 per mile for the snow removal season ending on April 30, 2021, for a grand total of $93,062.
The agreement covers portions of: Lawrence Street, Wright Settlement, Penny Street, Butternut Road, Cemetery Road, Greenway New London Road, Elmer Hill Road, West Thomas Street, Old Oneida Road and Coleman Mills Road.
In other proposed action, the council will consider a measure to place no parking signs on St. Peters Avenue.
“...The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, following a review of the conditions along said streets and in consideration of the requests made by local residents, recommends the placement of ‘No Parking’ signs on St. Peters Avenue,” reads the resolution.
The meeting can be heard via a telephone audio stream by calling 1-408-418-9388 and entering access code 173 202 9871# Anyone wishing to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting must register in advance with the city clerks office by calling 315-339-7659, and providing their full name, mailing address, email address and telephone number no later than noon on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
