BAY CITY, MI - Drivers in downtown Bay City will want to be aware of a road closure as important repairs are made.
Bay City’s First Street is now closed between Washington and Madison, including the intersection at Washington, for repair work due to sinkholes. The closure, which started on Monday, Sept. 21, is located behind the Bay County Court Facility building at 1230 Washington Ave.
The city of Bay City previously released a statement saying that a sinkhole was determined to be at least 6 feet deep in a parking area between Jefferson and Madison but that the sinkhole could extend along First Street.
No traffic or parking will be allowed on First Street during the closure and the work is expected to take two weeks.
Tri-City Groundbreakers is performing the repair work under warranty, according to the city.
