As of 9 a.m., CTA bus and rail services have been restored in the downtown area, according to a tweet from the transit agency.
Surface streets are reopening and bridges have also been lowered in the Loop, according to ABC7 Chicago's Roz Varon. All ramps coming off the expressway and heading east to downtown have also been reopened, allowing more access. Some street closures are still in effect, including the intersection of Lake St. and Michigan Ave. as police investigate an incident.
