Ann Arbor plans 7 major, up to 52 minor street reconstruction and resurfacing projects in 2020 - MLive.com

ANN ARBOR, MI -- Ann Arbor is planning seven major road projects, 52 local street resurfacing procedures and 16 preventative surface treatments that could be completed this year.

The projects were listed in a Monday night, Feb. 24, city council work session document.

The city is projected to spend $22.7 million in fiscal year 2020 and $18.3 in fiscal year 2021 on major and minor street maintenance.

Seven major road projects include:

  • Barton Drive from M-14 to Pontiac for resurfacing and intersection reconfiguration
  • Boardwalk Drive from Eisenhower to north end for resurfacing
  • First Street from Kingsley to Mosely Street for resurfacing and surface treatments, in coordination with the Downtown Development Authority’s project to create a two-way street.
  • Geddes Avenue from Church to Observatory for resurfacing
  • Plymouth Road from Nixon to Murfin for mill and fill
  • South Industrial Highway for concrete repairs
  • South University from State to East University Avenue for resurfacing, in coordination with the University of Michigan.

A long list of local streets are expected to be resurfaced. However, the list will be trimmed due to the high number of projects exceeding what the staff expects to complete this year, according to the report.

Street projects include:

  • Agincourt from Covington Street to end of Cul-de-sac
  • Amesbury Drive from Churchill Drive to Delaware Drive
  • Ardmoor Avenue from Avondale Avenue to West Stadium Boulevard
  • Avondale Avenue from Las Vegas Drive to Westfield Avenue
  • Avondale Avenue from Maywood Avenue to Greenview Drive
  • Barnard Road from Mershon Drive to Greenview Drive
  • Barrington Place from Dunmore Road/Weldon Boulevard to Runnymede Boulevard
  • Braeside Place from South Seventh Street to the of cul-de-sac
  • Brampton Court from Covington Street to the of cul-de-sac.
  • Carol Drive from Runnymede Boulevard to Stephen Ter/Wimpole Street
  • Chaucer Drive from the end of the cul-de-sac to Scio Church Road
  • Coler Road from Packard to end with a utility project
  • Coronada Street from Alhambra Drive/Sue Parkway to Alhambra Drive
  • Covington Street from Brampton Court to cul-de-sac.
  • Dicken Drive from South Maple Road to end of cul-de-sac
  • Dunmore Road from Winsted Boulevard to Sanford Place
  • Dunmore Road from Waverly Road to Barrington Place/Weldon Boulevard
  • Glen Leven Road from Greenview Drive to Woodland Drive
  • Granger Avenue from State Street to Packard
  • Greenview Drive from South Seventh Street to Scio Church Road
  • Hanover Court from Mershon Drive to end of cul-de-sac
  • Hanover Road fom Waverly Road to Mershon Drive
  • John Street from Fifth Avenue to Division Street, with a utility project
  • Kent Street from Dicken Drive to Waltham Drive
  • Las Vegas Drive from Coronada Street to Avondale Avenue
  • Mershon Drive from the end of the cul-de-sac to Scio Church Road
  • Morehead Court from South Seventh Street to end of cul-de-sac
  • Newbury Court from Morehead Drive to end of the cul-de-sac
  • Norfolk Avenue from Suffolk to Suffolk Street
  • Normandy Road from Mershon Drive to Greenview Drive.
  • Runnymede Boulevard from Las Vegas Drive to dead end
  • Saxon Road from Waltham to Waltham Drive
  • Scio Church Service Drive from Greenview Drive to South Seventh Street
  • South Seventh Street from end of the cul-de-sac to Morehead Drive/Morehead Court
  • South Boulevard from Packard to end end, with a utility project
  • Stephen Terrace from Runnymede Boulevard to Carol Drive/Wimpole Street
  • Sue Parkway from Runnymede Boulevard to Alhambra Drive/Coronada Street
  • Suffolk Street from West Stadium Boulevard to the dead end
  • Tudor Drive from South Maple Road to Dicken Drive
  • Waltham Drive from Warwick Court to Covington Street
  • Waltham Drive from Scio Church Road to Saxon Road
  • Warwick Court from Waltham Drive to end of the cul-de-sac
  • Waverly Road from Hanover Road to Dunmore Road
  • Welch Court from Scio Church Road to end of the cul-de-sac
  • Westfield Avenue from Avondale Avenue to West Stadium Boulevard
  • Wimpole Street from Carol Drive/Stephen Terrace to dead end
  • Wimpole Street from Runnymede Boulevard to Dicken School parking lot
  • Windsor Drive from Waltham Drive to Covington Street
  • Winsted Boulevard from the end of the cul-de-sac to Weldon Boulevard
  • Woodland Drive from Glen Leven Road to West Stadium Boulevard
  • Worthington Place from Lans Way to end of the cul-de-sac
  • Yeoman Court from Wiltshire Drive to end of the cul-de-sac

The city is also planning preventative maintenance projects.

Major streets set for surface treatments include:

  • East Eisenhower Parkway from west of Boardwalk Street to west end of bridge deck
  • East Eisenhower Parkway form east end of bridge deck to Stone School Road
  • East Stadium Boulevard from west of Henry Street/South Industrial Highway/East Park Place to Packard Street
  • Packard Street from East Stadium Boulevard to Anderson Avenue/Harpst Street
  • Pittsfield Boulevard from Packard Street to Washtenaw Service Drive

Minor streets include:

  • Second Street from West Mosely Street to West Jefferson Street
  • Astor Avenue from South Industrial Highway to Wisteria Drive
  • Edgewood Place at West Hoover Avenue
  • Elder Boulevard from Crest Street to Eberwhite Boulevard
  • Elizabeth Street from East Kingsley Street to High Street
  • Green Hills Drive form Earhart to Earhart Road
  • Henry Street from South State Street to White Street
  • Rugby Court from Wiltshire Drive to end of the cul-de-sac
  • Sybil Street from East Hoover Avenue to Hill Street
  • Wisteria Drive from Woodbury Drive to Astor Avenue
  • Woodbridge Boulevard at Eberwhite Boulevard
