54-year-old woman fatally shot after street racers block intersection in Mountain Creek area, Dallas police - The Dallas Morning News

Dallas police are looking for the person who fatally shot a woman Sunday night while street racers blocked an intersection in the Mountain Creek area.

Officers responded to the shooting about 10:40 p.m. in the 4300 block of Duncanville Road, near West Ledbetter Drive. Witnesses said the racers had blocked the streets before someone began firing a handgun.

It was unclear how many shots were fired.

Lynetta Washington, 54, was shot as she was walking down the street, police said. She died at the scene.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment. Anonymous tips may be submitted at 214-373-8477.
