Three YouTube personalities and two other men face felony charges on suspicion of being involved in street races that reached speeds of up to 160 mph on some of Orange County’s toll roads, authorities said.

The charges followed a six-month investigation into street racing on the 241 and the 261 toll roads.

“Orange County roads are not raceways designed to accommodate illegal street races of speeds reaching 160 mph,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement. “Street racing is irresponsible, it’s dangerous, and it shows a complete disregard for the lives of everyone involved.”

Irvine police arrested the defendants Tuesday, Jan. 26, and impounded their vehicles. All five were freed on bail.

Prosecutors filed multiple counts, including conspiracy to engage in a speed contest, against Rushdan Mohammad Abdallah, 26, of Lake Forest; Sean Lozai Stuart, 36, of Irvine; Saeid Assim Lachin, 27, of Fullerton; and La Verne residents Aaron Hamed  Waseeq, 25, and Daniel Joaquin Rodriguez, 21.

They were also accused of at least one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. All but Lachin was accused of going more than 100 mph.

“Abdallah posted street-racing videos to his YouTube channel that has hundreds of thousands of followers with the videos regularly attracting millions of views,” the DA’s Office said in a statement. “Videos on his channel also show him soliciting viewers to provide him with other street racing competitors.”

Abdallah was arrested on suspicion of evading police during a pursuit in November 2019 and resisting arrest, prosecutors said. He was free on bail at the time he helped plan illegal street races, they said. He faces more than eight years behind bars if convicted as charged.

The other four defendants could face more than three years in state prison if they are found guilty on all counts levied against them.
