Palmerton’s street sweeping program will resume on Aug. 1, following weeks of delay caused by the coronavirus.
With more residents staying home, more cars have been parked along the curbs, making the typical street sweeping parking guidelines hard to adhere to. But the borough’s council recently decided to start sweeping.
Unlike in previous years, police won’t be ticketing vehicles that don’t relocate according to the guidelines, though residents are asked to try to move their cars between 7 and 8 p.m. the night before sweeping takes place on their streets.
