WAUSAU – Downtown Wausau will launch on June 24 a new summer event series, Dining on the Street, to celebrate summer and the re-opening of downtown.
Restaurants will expand dining outdoors to abide by social distancing requirements while maintaining a fun, summer atmosphere. The 300 and 400 blocks of Third Street will be closed for the event.
Dining on the Street will also give local musicians a chance to showcase their talents for the community, bringing two artists live each week.
“Dining on the Street is a huge reminder that main street is open again, and all of the businesses are in this together,” Tyler Vogt, an owner of Malarkey’s Pub & Townies Grill, said in a Wausau River District news release. It’s a great way to save some of the summer activities while keeping social distancing in mind.”
The event will be held every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 24 through Aug. 26.
Dining on the Street participants include:
Benvenuto’s City Grill Restaurant
Ciao
Jalapeño’s Mexican Restaurante & Bar
Lemongrass Asian Fusion
The Mint Cafe
Polito’s Pizza Wausau & Rothschild
Townies Grill
