Globally famous New York City slice shop Prince Street Pizza is bringing its square pies back to Los Angeles next month. The mega-popular pepperoni cup kings will be landing once again at the Dough space at 8947 Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, this time for National Pizza Day (which is a thing).
Prince Street Pizza returns to LA for one weekend only, February 7 through February 9, thanks to Off the Menu, the five-year-old membership app that lets diners pay a monthly fee for access to a rotating variety of free off-menu dishes at restaurants around the city. Owner Lawrence Longo has been branching out into local events over the past few years, including chicken tender party TenderFest, and he previously brought Prince Street to LA almost exactly one year ago.
Last year the pop-up played to seriously long lines at the Sunset Boulevard location, but this time around Off the Menu is partnering with Uber Eats for delivery and Pizza Slime for some swag. Diners will be able to get Prince Street sent to their home as part of a $28 package that includes two slices, a custom box, and a shirt. It remains to be seen just how exceptionally busy the delivery side will be, though, considering Howlin’ Ray’s tried something similar not that long ago, and they basically broke Postmates in the process.
The weekend event runs February 7 through February 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. (starting at noon on Sunday). Diners who have the Off the Menu app can skip the line and get a free slice; others can use Uber Eats to set pick-up times for their pizza, and also skip the line.
Rumor has it that Prince Street Pizza has been eyeballing a permanent location in Los Angeles, thanks in part to the success of their recent pop-ups out here, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. Meanwhile, LA continues to up its game thanks to a variety of underground spots and big names like Ronan, Mozza, Jon & Vinny, and Cosa Buona — not to mention Eastside deep dish specialist Dough Box, which just returned to life after being saved by a fan.
