Security video shows woman dragged down street in California - NBC News

Security video captured a woman as she was dragged down a California street while holding on to a purse on Feb. 24.

The video, which shows the moment in which a white car is seen driving with the woman holding on, was shared by an Oakland beauty supply store on social media and with NBC affiliate KNTV.

Eventually the woman lets go and the car continues to zoom off. She lies in the middle of the street as cars continue to pass her, the video shows. She eventually gets up and walks to the side of the road, where witnesses approach her.

The beauty supply store owners declined to speak to NBC News, but the woman's husband told NBC affiliate that she is OK although still shaken up.

Oakland Police ask anyone with information to contact them as they continue their investigation.

'Momma's Hemp' Opens on King Street in Old Town - ALXnow

Feeling stressed? Momma’s Hemp at 1314 King Street carries $2 lollipops infused with CBD that are supposed to calm you down, give you energy, make you creative and focused.

Jennifer Bright and her eldest son, Devin Pullen opened the shop on Tuesday. The pair also opened a location in their hometown of Culpeper, Virginia, in 2019.

“Old Town is kind of like coming to a foreign country, but I’m getting used to it,” Bright told ALXnow.

Before going into business for themselves, Bright said she was wrongly fired from her job as a customer service representative for a retail store in Culpeper for bringing in CBD edibles to the office. The products won’t get customers high since CBD, or cannabidiol, is a completely legal cousin of the marijuana plant that has no psychoactive effects.

“I wish we had opened my business sooner, but being the single mom of four boys, I depended on that money and just felt comfortable in that position,” Bright said. “I feel like it happened for a reason, even though I didn’t understand it at the time. But now that I look back at it, it inspired us to do this, to push ourselves.”

Bright said that Pullen was experiencing anxiety, and that prescription medication wasn’t helping. So, they ventured into CBD. Products at the store include coffee, teas, candies, lotions, bath bombs and vapor cartridges.

“We’ve been watching him crawl out of the shell that he’d been in for quite some time,” Bright said. “It’s wholistic healing, and I’m using it, too. I’m not on any heavy medication. I feel better now than I have in my entire life. It just provides a great body relaxation. If you deal with anxiety or have pain, it’s gonna just help take that edge off. ”

Bright said that she and her son are waiting for marijuana to get legalized in Virginia so that they can sell it.

“That’s kind of what we’re waiting for,” she said. “The plan is to keep these two open, and then open more locations down the road.”

It's Been an Epic Week for Fisker. Here's What Wall Street Is Saying. - Barron's

Bridget Bennett/Bloomberg

Electric-vehicle start-up Fisker is having an epic week. A tech stock selloff, an EV stock selloff, new business partnerships, and fourth-quarter earnings all slammed into Fisker investors over the past few days. It was a lot to take in.

As the dust settles, Wall Street appears more bullish on Fisker (ticker: FSR) than it was a few days ago.

Coming into Friday, the Nasdaq Composite, home to many highly valued tech stocks, was down more than 5% for the week. That’s because inflation fears are rising. Higher inflation means higher interest rates, which hurt highflying stock valuations more than other shares.

Many EV stocks are highly valued. Tesla (TSLA) trades for very roughly 100 times estimated 2022 earnings. Tesla shares have had it harder than the Nasdaq, falling almost 13% through Thursday.

Fisker stock, however, is up 20%. Shares jumped almost 40% after the company announced a new partnership with Foxconn Technology (2354.Taiwan), to produce a new Fisker vehicle together. That blockbusting announcement came Wednesday.

The company’s fourth-quarter earnings report followed on Thursday evening. Fisker isn’t generating sales right now, so earnings don’t matter all that much. Still, it was a chance for analysts to ask about recent developments.

“We like the [Foxconn] deal as it diversifies Fisker away from its sole reliance with Magna producing vehicles in Austria,” wrote Cowen analyst Jeffery Osborne in a Friday research report. Magna (MGA) is building the Fisker Ocean, due in 2022.

Osborne rates FIsker shares Buy. He increased his price target for the stock Friday to $29 from $22. Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas rates share Buy, too. He is more bullish than Osborne and increased his target price to $40 from $27. Jonas believes the potential for a mass-market EV produced with Foxconn is a material, positive change to the company’s outlook.

Raymond James analyst Pavel Molchanov is a little more cautious. He rates Fisker shares Hold. His doesn’t have a target price for the stock. Molchanov is cautious on the stock because he wants more detail from the company about battery supply.

“The ideal outcome would be a firm, multiyear supply contract with a top-tier supplier,” wrote Molchanov in a Friday research report. He also wants more detail about the versions of the Fisker Ocean represented by the company’s 12,000-plus reservation figures. He notes that the gross-profit-market guidance for the base Ocean model is 5%-8%, while the guidance for the Extreme version is 29%-33%.

Overall, four out of seven, or about 57%, of analysts covering Fisker rate shares Buy. The average Buy-rating ratio for stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average is about the same.

Fisker shares are down 0.8%, at $21.41, in early trading Friday. The S&P 500 is down 0.2%.
